Beehler was a colorful highlight in the porn industry of the 70s. He first worked with Shan Sayles at Signature Films and then after supposedly embezzling money there went to Jaguar, another studio that tended to rip people off.

Jim Cassidy described him as "sneaky, shady 'nice guy,' A lot of honey on his lips."

Pat Rocco thought he was very nice and was really taken for granted by Sayles and Cooperman at Signature Films.

Whatever his character was, he spent a lot of time in court defending himself.

According to Barry Knight, Beehler was a good director but when it came to the sex scenes he said the guys already knew what they were doing and would leave the room to the performers and the cameramen.
