Madd Coww notes:
Days of Greek Gods (1949 or 1954?) is a 5-minute live sound posing strap film. It was filmed by Richard Fontaine, and stars Bob Delmonteque. The actual year of production is either 1949 or 1954. Subsequent ads, including those from Fontaine's own studio, suggest it was produced in 1949. However, an interview with Fontaine says that the film was initially marketed with an ad in Tomorrow's Man (which did not begin publication until 1952). A feature in Vim (October 1954) says it is "soon to be released." I'd say it is "not to be missed."
It was originally produced in a 15 minute, 16mm version, for showing in high school art classes. However there was a greater demand for 8mm home movie versions. So the film was condensed for 8mm distribution. The film starred Bob Del Monteque, a bodybuilder, model and photographer (with his own studio), and Bob was known to step out of his posing strap on occasion (see attached photos, for example). The co-stars were Artie Zeller and Jimmy Apollo.
------
The first posing strap film with sound. The dialogue is so awkward, that subtitles would have been acceptable. The three models offer their addresses for photographs for sale at the end.
