John Reynolds is the athlete doing his exercises when the doorbell rings and a young tramp, Harold Wolcott, is at the door asking for a handout. After feeding the scrounge, John insists that he bathe which turns out to be a major undertaking, the ungrateful trap repays the athlete's kindness by attacking him and they wrestle until John subdues the wretch and throws him outdoors into the trash can.
