Clint lived a life of successive gay fantasies. Starting out, he graduated from high school at age 17, and was primarily interested in piano and classical music. That's not really a fantasy, but just a foundation to prove that it is possible to be tasteful, cultured and macho. He enlisted in the Navy (fantasy 1), and served a tour of duty. Then he joined the Marines (fantasy 2), and served another. On his honorable discharge at the rank of Staff Sergeant, he became a commercial pilot (fantasy 3). In 1970, he joined LAPD (fantasy 4), first as a squad car officer and then as a vice detective in the Valley. He never worked as a motorcycle cop, though he owned and drove a Harley (fantasy 5).
He and Dan Pace (aka Rocky Genero) were lovers for a while and were lifelong friends. For a while, he and Dan did a nightclub act in the eighties.
